What is the Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefit?
It is a part of an “Improved Pension” Benefit provided by The Veterans Administration.
Who are these benefits for?
Veterans that:
- Served at least 1 day during a period of active war with a total of 90 days of active duty. (The Veteran did not have to see battle to be eligible.)
- Received an honorable or general discharge.
Spouse of Veteran:
- Must have been married to the Veteran at the time of his/her death.
What documents will I need to qualify?
Discharge papers (DD214). For spouse, we will need a death certificate and a marriage certificate. (Death certificate if veteran is deceased.)
