Medicaid Planning

Whether the future holds nursing home, assisted living or special home health care, pre-planning is essential to prevent financial devastation. The best time to plan is when you’re still healthy. Medicaid Planning ensures the best possibility of acceptance into the medicaid program.

Sometimes pre-planning is not possible. Often times an individual has only a short time to qualify, or is already in a nursing home. Proper planning is still very important.

In any case, the most important areas of focus are to:

  • Preserve as many of the assets as possible
  • Protect the home from Medicaid benefit recapture
  • Prevent “elimination” period
  • Possibly get immediate care via a “Medicaid Pending” letter

A few years ago I saw a bus company using the Senior Step to aid their passengers in entering and exiting the motorcoach. Upon examination I went home and ordered the Senior Step to use when conducting tours. It has been an extremely useful investment making getting on and off the bus with ease for my seniors. I would highly recommend anyone in the tour/travel/bus industry in purchasing this product. It is well built and will hold up to rigorous use.

I gave a Senior Shure-step to my mother-in-law who uses it daily. She is mid-80’s and having a hard time getting in and out of the car. The Shure-step makes it much easier and is incredibly sturdy. I would recommend it to anyone needing a secure step stool. It’s also very light and portable.
